You have the legal right to dispute inaccurate items on your own credit report — for free, directly with the bureaus. This tool just makes that fast: pull your report, we'll help you spot what's worth disputing, and you'll get real letters citing your federal rights, ready for you to sign and mail. Four quick steps: get your report → review what's flagged → confirm your info → get your letters.
Let's grab your credit report
Which bureau are you pulling from?
Credit Karma
Free consumer credit report site
Experian
Direct credit bureau report
Three quick things — you'll do this on your own Credit Karma account. We never ask for your Credit Karma password.
Use a web browser, not the Credit Karma app. On your phone, that means opening Safari or Chrome and going to creditkarma.com directly — not the Credit Karma app itself. The scan tool only works on the website.
Switch your report to the print-friendly view. This is what lets the tool correctly find and separate your negative items — it won't pull the report accurately from the normal view.
Drag this button up to your browser's bookmarks bar (the row under the address bar). If you don't see that row, press
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + B first.
On a phone, or dragging isn't working? , then create a new bookmark and paste it in as the address.
Log into Credit Karma in your browser (not the app), go to your credit report, and switch to the print-friendly view. Then tap/click each account to open it up. The scan tool can only read what's already open on the screen, and only pulls correctly from this view.
It reads the page and copies your account info by itself — you'll see a small pop-up confirming it worked. Then come back to this tab.
Three quick things — you'll do this on your own Experian account.
Use a web browser, not the Experian app. Go to experian.com directly in Safari or Chrome — the scan tool only works on the website.
Switch your report to the print-friendly view. Experian's normal report view is built in a way the scan tool can't read — the print-friendly view lays everything out in a format it can actually pull from.
Drag this button up to your browser's bookmarks bar. If you don't see that row, press
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + B first.
On a phone, or dragging isn't working? , then create a new bookmark and paste it in as the address.
If the scan says "No account entries found" but you can see accounts on the page, drag this diagnostic tool to your bookmarks bar too and click it on the same page — it'll tell us exactly what it can and can't find:
🔍 Diagnose Page
Log into Experian in your browser (not the app), go to your credit report, and switch to the print-friendly view. Unlike Credit Karma, you don't need to click to expand anything here — the print-friendly view already shows everything.
It reads the page and copies your account info by itself — you'll see a small pop-up confirming it worked. Then come back to this tab.
Note: inquiries are pulled from a specific part of Experian's site — if none show up in your results, try running the scan tool again while that section of the page is visible.
Once you've done that
Tap the button — it'll grab what the tool just copied, automatically.
Paste it in yourself instead (press and hold, then Paste — or Ctrl/Cmd+V):
Here's what we found
These are the accounts and inquiries that could be hurting your score. Uncheck anything you don't want to dispute — everything else looks fine to us.
Accounts that may be worth disputing
Recent inquiries (credit checks)
Accounts in good standing (nothing to do here)

You have a right to dispute inaccurate information in your credit report by contacting the credit bureau directly. However, neither you nor any "credit repair" company or credit repair organization has the right to have accurate, current, and verifiable information removed from your credit report. The credit bureau must remove accurate, negative information from your report only if it is over 7 years old. Bankruptcy information can be reported for 10 years.
You have a right to obtain a copy of your credit report from a credit bureau. You may be charged a reasonable fee. There is no fee, however, if you have been turned down for credit, employment, insurance, or a rental dwelling because of information in your credit report within the preceding 60 days. The credit bureau must provide someone to help you interpret the information in your credit file.

General dispute letter
One letter, addressed to all three credit bureaus together.
Stronger follow-up letter
One letter per bureau, citing your federal rights under FCRA §609/605/623 — use this if the first letter doesn't work.
• Sign each letter by hand.
• Include a copy (not the original) of your ID and a utility bill or bank statement as proof of address.
• Mail each bureau's letter separately, ideally by certified mail with return receipt, so you have proof it arrived.
• Keep a copy of everything you send.
• Bureaus generally have 30 days to respond once they receive your letter.
